Trotter & Morton is committed to creating the safest and healthiest work environment possible for all our employees and all other personnel affected by our operation. Trotter & Morton has a Health and Safety Program that supports continuous life long learning and awareness for managers, supervisors, and employees.
Training, education, and attitude are our key fundamentals of workplace health and safety in our Group of Companies, which service a wide range of industries. All of Trotter & Morton staff from upper management to our field personnel, maintain the safest working conditions at all times. All our supervisors attend Safety Training Programs at the Alberta Construction & Safety Association. Not only do all employees have WHMIS training, all new employees complete our in-house behaviour based safety learning system (CSTS) and attendance is a mandatory requirement prior to employment.
Trotter & Morton has developed competency standards and hazard assessment tools for Safety Critical Tasks, with employees actively involved in this process. The Field Level Risk Assessment reflects our commitment to workplace health and safety during every activity through to project completion.
Trotter & Morton has succeeded to expand and strengthen Safety partnerships with all the firms we have done work with over the years.
Trotter & Morton was one of the founding members of the Partnerships in Injury Reduction Program through ACSA and the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB). We are continually developing and improving our operations and safety standards.
Everyone associated with Trotter & Morton maintains the safe working environment that we all benefit from, one hour at a time. The Trotter & Morton Safety Hour Awards Program was developed to compensate the individual with tangible rewards in return for each accident-free hour earned.
In addition we conduct training in a variety of areas both on and off the job site on an ongoing basis.
All employees are in charge with and have readily accepted the responsibility of protecting themselves and all those who could be affected by their actions.
Our Safety Program Manual contains a comprehensive set of Safe Work Practices and Job Procedure Instructions which are reviewed prior to each operation. All those involved are on an equal footing during the discussion and must be satisfied before work begins.
